The course gives an insight into the culture and everyday life of the United Kingdom. Students are expected to make differences between political and geographical concepts like the United Kingdom, Great Britain and the British Isles. Topics include: Different regions of the UK. Main symbols of the British Isles. The political system and the role of the monarhy. The legal system. The welfare system. The education system. Social structure. Students are expected, in possession of their language skills obtained so far, to orientate themselves in the culture of the British Isles. Religion.
